As can be seen from the clip, climate change impacts our entire planet. It is causing polar ice and glaciers to melt, causing a dramatic rise in sea levels. It is also the cause of an increasing number of extreme weather events like typhoons and hurricanes in some parts of the world, while others suffer from droughts and heat waves causing devastating fires and lost harvests. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has stated in their most recent report that if the temperature rise can be held to below 1.5⁰C, irreversible effects of climate change can be avoided. Above this level there will be highly significant and permanent changes to our environment and biodiversity. The time to act is now!
