Some time ago, we completed the installation of a new solar energy system at Kwadaso Agricultural College (KAC) in Kumasi. The system consists of twenty solar panels on the college’s roof and two batteries connected to the installation. Together, they now provide power to the administrative block and the classrooms used for the ACHI project.
For KAC, the most important result of this project is reliable electricity for the admin block. In the past, frequent grid outages interrupted office work, communication and planning, making it difficult to keep daily operations running smoothly. With the new solar panels and battery system in place, the administrative team can continue working even when the grid goes down. The ACHI classrooms also benefit from this system, allowing lessons to continue more consistently during power cuts.
This system is financed through our rent to own model. Instead of making a large upfront investment, KAC pays a fixed monthly amount for the solar system. These monthly costs are competitive with their previous electricity expenses, while at the same time giving them more control over their energy supply. After the rent period, the system will become their property, providing many more years of affordable power.
Although lower costs and reliability were the main reasons for KAC to choose solar, the project also brings a clear environmental benefit. The electricity for the admin block and ACHI classrooms now comes from a clean source, which fits well with the college’s role in training the next generation of agricultural professionals. This installation shows how solar energy and battery storage can support education in Ghana by providing stable, predictable and cleaner power for schools and training centres.

We recently completed the installation of six solar panels at Chalé Spirulina’s farm in Kumasi. This new system now powers a significant part of their daily operations, reducing their environmental impact and enhancing energy reliability.
We have started a new solar energy project for an office in Accra, Ghana. The office employs 15 people who can use our solar panels starting from August.
We have established a new subsidiary in Ghana that takes over all operational activities and is based in the capital city, Accra.
After an inspiring visit to Ghana, Greenwizz is now focusing on the installation and financing of solar panels, directly contributing to the energy transition and addressing the energy challenges in Ghana.
